Just to show that Nature doesn't think of everything. Here are a few of the novel compounds that I had to synthesize during the course of research for my Doctoral dissertation in organic chemistry. The two on the left are solids; those on the right are liquids. As far as I know, none of these substances have any valuable commercial properties but they were essential to my thesis.
